Initial Session



First Step #01

Your first step is to telephone me or e-mail me to set up an initial session.

This first session has a few objectives :
  • it will provide a chance to talk generally about the relevant issues, plus present a general description of
    personal background with regard to family, relationships, work and any significant life events

  • more importantly, this will give you the opportunity to meet me, ask any questions about how I work and from there decide if you would like to continue.

  • at this point we will discuss the options of short or long term therapy. Short term therapy may be appropriate for an immediate crisis or recent event, however, with a longer term, the work will develop into a deeper more ongoing process of support and change.

Therapy sessions usually last for one hour and take place on a weekly basis.

Sometimes longer and more frequent sessions are deemed more appropriate.

I offer a sliding scale of fees - we discuss this in the first session setting an amount which feels appropriate to the client's means.
